How we chose
We looked for Android apps that connect to the Hermes Agent you run, read each Google Play listing, website and repository on 20 October 2026, and ranked them by fit for common needs. Two strong options are free and open source, so they come first.
Herald is third. It is the best fit if you run several computers, want group chats that mix them, or use Apple devices too, but it costs money and has no terminal or phone control.
We left out Hermes Agent Client – OnDev AI. Its listing presents a mobile AI workspace for coding on the go and doesn’t explain how it connects to a Hermes you already run, so we couldn’t compare it fairly. If you prefer a browser, Hermes WebUI installs as a web app on Android.
Questions
Is there an official Hermes Agent app for Android?
Not yet. Nous Research is hiring for native iOS and Android apps but hadn’t released one as of 20 October 2026. See Herald vs the official app.
Do these apps run Hermes on the phone?
No. Every pick here connects to Hermes on your computer or server, so your bots keep working when the phone is off.
Does Herald on Android match the iPhone version?
Mostly: chat, group chats, several computers, approvals, voice and the wake word, kanban and schedules are all there. Apple Watch, CarPlay, Live Activities and Siri are iPhone-only, and on Android Hermes Pet appears as an ongoing notification instead.
